Is this the most articulate, direct speakin' garcon to appear in the Senate since the late great convoluted John Grey Gorton?
Seasprites won’t operate until 2011
A federal parliamentary committee has been told the Navy’s troubled Seasprite helicopters will not be operating for at least another three years.
The helicopters were first ordered in 1997 but have been plagued by a series of technical problems, and have been grounded since April 2006.
Major-General Mark Fraser has told a Senate estimates committee the earliest flying date that can now be expected for the Seasprites is 2011.
“We fully expect that when we get the aircraft flying, given on our history to this point, we will probably identify additional issues with that tactical system, which will require rectification. So that drives a schedule issue as to how long it may take us, and our expectation as to how long it may take us to bring our aircraft into service.”
Translations of Major-General Mark Fraser's pithy explanation welcomed. (Plain engrish please.) And remember folks these are your taxes at work ... in contrast to the Seasprites.
I blame the Wright brothers. The Mongolfier brothers had a far better product.
Labels: I DO NOT believe it. (I lied. Of course I do.)
